Creating a Flag for Fazeley

For years, Fazeley has proudly flown the Union Flag (often referred to as the Union Jack) above the Town Hall. What it hasn’t had is its own Flag; one that represents the communities of Fazeley, Mile Oak and Bonehill.

What the Council didn’t want to do was hand the project over to an external organisation that didn’t have the level of insight or passion that local people were able to bring to the creative process.

The attached slides tell the story of the wonderful journey taken to turn the aspiration into a reality.

It has long been the desire of Fazeley Town Council for Fazeley to have its own flag.

When the subject came up during a Council Meeting in June 2024, it was decided to involve those living in the area to put forward their ideas on what it should look like. But who..? That was the question.

Who better than local children...

June 2024

Fazeley Town Council began by approaching the two local Primary Schools; Millfield Primary School and Longwood Primary School.

After agreeing to participate in the project, the children were given the challenge of coming up with a design that incorporated historical landmarks or places of interest within Fazeley, Mile Oak and Bonehill.
